an overview of the jungian personality theory (mbti) and the mutational alchemy tarot

A few weeks ago one of our members was asking me about how we arrived at the syncretic merging of the 16 Court Cards of the traditional tarot with the Meyers-Briggs 16 personality types. I realized then that nothing has actually been written covering this very important topic. This is a really good excuse to lay out the inner workings of the way we do research and establish doctrine here at The Abrahadabra Institute, which is very different from the way almost everyone else in the occult goes about doing this. We apply to a very rigorous standard of logic. Everything must justify its existence here, and if it’s merely speculation, this must be disclosed honestly, from the very beginning. 

The theory of 16 personality types is credited to Carl Gustav Jung, considered to be a prominent occultist amongst our more sophisticated kindred. The theory is a simple Tetragrammaton base – a tetragram composed of two binary values. The values are not labelled “Yin” and “Yang” but this is exactly what they are, in the eyes of the trained Mutational Alchemist. 

Over 90% of the more than one thousand members we have had registered here at The Abrahadabra Institute are members of the NT group. Response to our request for registration of one’s MBTI on Abrahadabra Forums 1.0 was extremely successful. The results were surprising. Not shocking, but surprising – and a little worrisome.
