pentagrammaton: part i, introduction

This work is far too important to conceal behind the Institute’s private forums, so I present it here for the public to reference and utilize it. In published works, please attribute it to m1thr0s 729 and Izi Ningishzidda, of The Abrahadabra Institute.

5-Line Structures are known as Pentagrams. There are exactly 32 Pentagrammal Structures corresponding to the 32 Paths of Wisdom in the Tree of Life so it is very important to know about them, even though so little is known about them generally. I discovered them early on in the formation of the Mutational Alchemy Tarot, and with a ton of help from m1thr0s, developed them more systematically about 3 years later. The Mutational Alchemy model, and indeed, the MAT itself, is enormous, and it took that long just to properly attend to the discovery while we sorted through the other weighty tasks, such as the new doctrine of the Hidden Diamond Sutra and the differences between the Primordials and Temporals in the doctrine of the Twin Trees, which is the master formula of Mutational Alchemy.

 

The discovery of Pentagrammaton was one of the most exciting experiences I have ever had. Uncovering new occult thesis no one in the world has ever published is one of the most romantic things a Magus can hope to achieve in their lifetime. All of our members who continue on to become Mutational Alchemists lineaged to TAI will be required to make a declaration of their will and wyrd – the final rank we offer requires a thesis on an entirely new, undiscovered territory within the occult. The reason we demand this of our members is because there is a vast body of knowledge out there that has yet to be discovered. We will not consign ourselves to the current state of the occult which has found itself stagnating in the big three: sigil, goetia and spells.  I present these works at all not to impress members with our achievments – or even to provide instruction, although this is the primary objective, but to inspire one to the realization that they too can be a pioneer. We are The Abrahadabra Institute, the world’s premier research organization on cutting edge star thesis. Everyone who is a member of TAI should take on the attitude of an explorer, rather than a mere student, if one is to live up to our name and standards at all.  

 

 

The discovery of Pentagrammaton and the Hidden Diamond Sutra both occurred during the lifetime of Abrahadabra Forums 1.0, and the way they were brought forward to m1thr0s and developed by him underlines the extreme importance of an organizational hub for this work. There is no possible way I could have developed this alone, and m1thr0s’ plate was already so full he couldn’t possibly step back and look at all angles with fresh eyes. So, as I have said before, and I will say again, “We are very interested in what is going on in your head.” There is no telling where the state of occultism can go when we take an exploratory attitude and begin working together. 

 

Below are two sets of charts. The first two images illustrate what we call the Heaven Descending arrangement, in binary and then numeric form, respectively. The last two images illustrate Earth Ascending. 

 

By the tarot attributions, the Pentagrams are classed into two main groups: major arcana and minor arcana. The major arcana pents begin at 11, and end at 32 while the minors begin at 1, and apply numerically one to one, for example, Pentagram 2 is assigned to any elemental card with the value of 2, such as 2 of Pentacles. The reason for this is that this is where the tarot is assigned to the paths of the Tree of Life. Eliphas Levi, a French occultist, was the first Hermetic Magus to map the tarot to the Tree of Life, at least in recorded history. 

During our investigation of the Pents, as we had started referring to them, m1thr0s asked me what I wanted to name them, both generally and individually. I simply answered, “Well, Pentagrammaton. Isn’t that what they are? I’d rather keep it simple.” I looked at him for approval of course, as this is what one does with one’s teachers, especially if they are also a mate. Of course he was pleased with that simplicity. m1thr0s was a true minimalist, and any true minimalist, as any minimalist would tell you, is also someone who, seemingly paradoxically, loves technology (and by proxy, the creator of technology, Man) while also holding Nature in the highest esteem.

 

Students are given a metal disk by the O.T.O., something all neophytes get, and they are instructed to engrave it with a symbol of their Will, something meant to act upon the element of Earth. He just left it blank, and, it’s still like that to this day, although, since the 70’s it has also gathered a lovely patina of rusty speckles, the largest of which, no bigger than a grain of quinoa, exactly resembles a vivid, sinister looking, reptillian eye. The essence of who m1thr0s was, how he conducted himself as a Magus, and the way in which he built the foundation for The Abrahadabra Institute is summarized in this one curious artifact. There are the other four elemental tools of course, and they offer different insights, but we’re talking about Pentagrammaton here and there is a direct inference of something having to do with the element of Earth.  It is, perhaps, this respect for the sovereignty of the elements, of numbers and of pieces of Nature that sets TAI apart from all other magickal organizations, and allowed us to discover these hidden facets and bits of data from the “vault” where others had often walked right by them. “Universe is sufficient first cause unto itself” m1thr0s often reminded me – a quote from G.W. Leibniz, one of our culture heroes.

I went on to make sure we both agreed on the naming convention. “And they should just be called by their numbers or their description, “Fire of Heaven” or whatever” I finished. He agreed, and did not have any other suggestions for it. We were both pretty much on the same page, although it had not always been like that. I had to get rid of a lot of bad habits to synchronize with him and this is part and parcel to the lineaged initiation process I have discussed in the previous article. There is a strong filiality required of lineaged initiates, and a peculiarity with prior masters which requires one to love them, if one is to make any progress. During one of our discussions he mentioned this in passing. “Do you think I would have been able to pull the incredible insights from the I Ching if I didn’t respect Fu Hsi and King Wen? I wouldn’t have been allowed to touch it.”       

Years later, right before I was about to take on the task of writing the MAT book, I stumbled across a Kabbalistic way of arranging the verses of Genesis, called the “32 Paths of Wisdom and Genesis.” There is a ton of old Kabbalistic knowledge coming out today in our information age, and it’s putting a lot of the old, lineaged ideas, to shame, especially old aeon orders like the O.T.O., (earthly manifestation of) the A.’.A.’. and even the Golden Dawn, since, the doctrines they promote are being outed as mutant bastards, based on a whole bunch of hearsay, assumptions and outright nonsense.

I didn’t want to put my stamp on Pentagrammaton by calling it something naft, like “Izi’s Pents” but I did want to call attention to this parallel, and as I am Hebrew, certainly it’s a personal stamp. So, all we did was take the numerical order of the 32 Paths of Wisdom and afix them to the Pents. What happens when we do this is we get an affirmation of the ordering of the Elements in Western Magick – the lines begin, through Pents 1-2 “Elohim created, and his Ruach.” According to the Pents elemental nature, who is Elohim and what is his Ruach (“spirit”)? Fire of Heaven, then Fire of Wind – this is Fire the Father and Air the Son, to any classical Hermetic Alchemist who is paying attention.

 

There are yet at least a hundred other mysteries within these paired Pentagrams and verses, but I’ll need to wait until I have some classically trained Hermetic Alchemists listening before I begin pointing them out in the next few years of the curriculum. Three key edits were made, just for the sake of clarity – the sea is called by its Sumerian name, Tiamat, and certain Hebrew words such as Ruach and Rak’ia have not been translated (usually they are interpreted as Spirit and Sky respectively, but our idea of what the sky is has changed tremendously in the past century, and the word Spirit is too often used to refer to the element of Akasha in Hermeticism.)

The Abrahadabra Grid, The Hidden Diamond Sutra and the Doctrine of the TwinTrees: Introduction

On Saturday I was handed the answer to a question which has been puzzling me for some time. How many unique triangles, including triangles with triangles within them, are inside the Abrahadabra Grid? I needed some help from math whizzes as I wasn’t about to spend all weekend tracing copies of the Abrahadabra Grid. So I asked a subreddit full of just such math whizzes what the answer was. The formula, for those of you who are into this sort of thing, is below.

(4n^3 + 10n^2 + 4n – 1 + (-1)^(n)) /16 where n= {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10}

ANSWER (and detailed commentary)

After I received the answer, I felt pretty great, now I had one more piece of the grand puzzle of Abrahadabra, but also a little lame since I couldn’t figure out the solution myself. (Not likely, since I majored in Art to Advanced Art III throughout highschool and took the bare minimum of Algebra I.) I gave the two key problem solvers Reddit Gold. Throughout my inquiry I was reticent to discuss anything in particular about the vanilla grid I had posted to them, shown below in its full glory. The image I posted to the group only shows the 100 triangles. 

After I gave out the gildings, I received an astonishing and eloquent letter from one of the two recipients of the gilding. (The full correspondence is here, and yes he does have a silver tongue…not very many people outside of TAI can convince me to write an article in response to their query – but I was convinced that this mathematically disposed fellow could easily surpass my understanding in Mutational Alchemy if I could expose him to m1thr0s’ work…)

Your generosity is delightful and honestly made my day, many sincere thanks for the gold! I took the opportunity to check out your account, and it looks like you’re interested in more than a few interesting things yourself!

One of your recent comments stood out to me in particular. In a thread on the nature of Daath and the alleged Qliphoth, you note that you see the two trees as one aspect of a single tree.

This is an idea I have been grappling with myself lately, and I wonder if you might share with me another sort of gold and enlighten me as to your understanding of the tree?

Specifically, it seems as though many tarot decks hint at this same fact, that the two trees, knowldege of good and evil along with the tree of life, are two aspects of a single tree. I have been working with a somewhat obscure deck recently, the Sacred Rose Tarot, which seems to be using this mystery as its central theme.

But appealing to more common currents, when I look at the High Priestess of the standard RWS, I see the two pillars, with the Priestess herself as the central column. Yet also behind her visage is the virginal veil bearing yet another image of the tree in the form of palms and pomegranates, with Her lunar crown in the position of Daath. So there is the tree of which she herself is the central pillar and then there is the tree upon the veil.

This theme of the double tree can also be seen across many cards in many decks, but seems most clear in the Tower. The King and Queen flank the central pillar, but then the lightning takes the form of the flaming sword, indicating another tree. This is even more clear in the BOTA version, where the lightning takes again the form of the Flaming Sword, and, obscured by the prana like clouds above the queen, ten yods take the form of the tree of life. This almost implies 3 trees- the tower + king + queen, the lightning, and the yods.

This is even more pronounced in the golden dawn tarots of both Wang-Regardie and the Ciceros. Both of these versions show two trees clearly (one being the qliphoth) and one being the tree of life, with a central tower and a king and queen on the left and right. Cicero’s deck has the symbol of Mars stricking the tower, which makes enough sense, but Regardie keeps to the theme of the flaming sword bringing about the “calamity”. So there is a subtle implication of up to 4 trees in the vision provided by Uncle Al’s old secretary.

As I am sure you have noticed, the lightning itself, and not the tower, takes the most central and conspicuous place in the Crowley-Harris rendition, but here again the towers is also present, again implying at least a duplicity of trees.

I could go on and on, though such is clearly unwarranted. But again, while you asked for my expertise, I humbly ask for your wisdom in kind. Can you help me to understand this concept of the two trees as one, and how this somewhat illusory concept of the qliphot fits in, even though you clearly don’t buy into the concept yourself.

I am immensely grateful for the gilding, and am happy to have helped you! Now I would humbly ask that you bestow upon me a gold greater than that found in all the earth, but wholly accept if, for whatever reason, you cannot.

There has been a tremendous amount of research done on this subject here at The Abrahadabra Institute, under the leadership of our founder, Magister Ouroboros 729 as he preferred to be called, or m1thr0s 729. Since you are familiar with Crowley it may be helpful to point out that he was initiated by Grady McMurtry and left the O.T.O. shortly after Hymenaeus Alpha’s death, for reasons I will not go into in great detail here, and I will try to keep this backstory only as long as necessary for you to get a full view of the origins of this work and what we are all about. First a photo of him so we know who we are talking about visually.


He began studying the occult in his early teens, and at the time that I made the decision to join him in his work as his lover and eventual wife, I had known him for 10 years already, and had been studying his work alongside many others at abrahadabra.com for about 10 years with varying degrees of understanding. Although we had merely had a casual flirting relationship before this, after I became completely absorbed and fascinated with his work, we had fallen madly in love due to our shared love of intellectual pursuits, especially Hermeticism and the discipline he had pioneered called Mutational Alchemy – a hybridized branch of Hermetic Alchemy. As it turned out, since I had been born to a witch and sorceress familiar with Crowley and his ilk in her own right, he also viewed me as an asset in his intellectual pursuits. Because he had been studying the occult without halting for over 40 years, you can imagine among other things it was an incalculably interesting and rewarding relationship for me up until his death on December 26th 2016. 
      Now to the lengthy answer to your question. So much of what we do here at TAI is focused on building on the understanding of those who are already here, it seems all of the introductory texts to what makes Abrahadabra.com special get buried under more advanced, or tertiary, essays and videos, that treat offhand subjects of not direct interest to TAI’s core discipline of Mutational Alchemy. For true intellectuals, and lovers of numbers, in the Pythagorean tradition, this is where the real treats are to be found. The proofs I am about to go over with you are utterly astounding and I know you will appreciate them as much as I do and a few rare individuals with just the right mix of knowledge and understanding who come across this stuff, although they are just completely lost on the vast majority of those who come to us for our tarot deck or just for a sense of belonging to an ooey occult organization with a dangerous looking sigil at its helm. 
       The first major observation that m1thr0s 729 made, at some point in the 1970’s, shortly after his departure from the dysfunctional O.T.O., who had no interest in his work anyways, was that the Sephiroth/Tree of Life fits within a talisman of the highest order he created called the Abrahadabra Grid. (Note that in the image below, if you highlight all of the Sephiroth and the Ain Soph Aur Coordinate, it spells ABRAHADABRA!)

This came about through the dedicated research he was doing into the alchemical formula of Abrahadabra at the time. He observed the importance with which the praeter-human intelligence of Ra Hoor Khut treated it, announcing it in the first line of his chapter, and designating it as a *reward.* This alone was enough to key him into its importance. This is the grid you solved with the formula you gave me.  Here it is, below, in its full glory for you to observe. 


Note that the Tree of Life’s Sephira are affixed upon the intersecting lines of the grid as if it was made for it. According to Crowley, as you might recall, Abrahadabra emerges from the Tree, not the other way around, but this proof clearly demonstrates that he was wrong. The Star gives rise to the Tree, not the other way around! Additionally, the Four Elemental Worlds cascade from apex at Ain Soph Aur itself and fit perfectly within the entirety of Abrahadabra. The dark grey triangles mirror the structure of the Tetractys of the Decad – we refer to these per m1thr0s’ naming conventions as *The Secret Chiefs*. The only *Secret Chief* that touches a Sephira is centered at the groin area of the Adam Kadmon, the shadowy figure in the center of the Abrahadabra Grid, and appears to uphold Tiphareth. There are countless other secrets in this, one of the master formulas of Mutational Alchemy, but this is as far I will go into this particular map for the moment, as I have a lot more to cover.
      You asked about the “two trees” and say you have been wondering about three, or even four trees. Although we have not answered the question of the third or fourth tree with any certainty, I can fill in more than a few huge blanks that you might have been missing.  The first concept I want to introduce you to is one that is newer than the TwinTrees which I will cover below, but it is the logical first step towards understanding that master formula. If one connects all of the Sephiroth via paths that are “not there” we find that the image is rather stunningly beautiful. More than this, there are exactly 16 paths all together, corresponding not only to the 16 Court Cards, but to the 16 Geomantic figures of Medieval Europe and the 16 personality types of C.G. Jung. We discovered this independently during our research on the Mutational Alchemy Tarot, which is why it figures so prominently in that deck, since the way we use sigils and talismans is different from any other meditative discipline on Earth, and we discovered it had some very intriguing properties when used with a methodology we call scryation and the building of Mutational Fields. (Mutationism is the professional term for those who study the science of change within binary or ternary structures, i.e., the I Ching) There’s a whole series of articles and charts pertaining to this structure, and very few people have noticed this structure over the centuries. It was documented only twice in literature that we know of, and never given any proper attention for whatever reason. Those two people who mentioned it are now dead and didn’t name it, so we gave it a name: The Hidden Diamond Sutra, after its presentation as an exotic diamond and its value to us. It is named a Sutra to emphasize to neophytes a different way of thinking about Sutra as merely a doctrine framed within literature.
      The mere fact that we could use it to unify both the Court Cards and the Geomantic Figures along with the Jungian personality types was enough for us to justify utilizing it in the Tarot, but m1thr0s also discovered that it crossed Da’ath, functioning as a precise and powerful weapon with which a Mutational Alchemist can launch an assault on Da’ath from all directions, rather than wading through it from the Abyss, something which has haunted those who work with the Tree of Life for generations. The last doctrine we will go over is possibly the one that will attend to your questions as far as I can go within this short article, and it constitutes the master formula of Mutational Alchemy itself. This is the doctrine of the Twin Trees, which is an advanced set of Sephiroth paired to the I Ching. There have been at least half a dozen variations of this formula over the years in both single and twin form, (for reference, in order of creation they are called the *P’an Ku or Heaven Descending*, the *Nu Kua or Earth Ascending*, *The Emerald Tablet*,  The TwinTrees Prototype A and Prototype B [obsolete, kept in the archives for historical purposes, these were created in the search for the Temporals or a possible third Tree] and finally the TwinTrees Primordial and TwinTrees Temporals) but the two that concern us the most to this date are the *TwinTrees: Primordial* and the *TwinTrees: Temporal*.  The Mutational Alchemy Tarot itself is built on the framework of the Primordials. As we may remember it was Eliphas Levi who first thought of affixing the Tarot to the Tree of Life. While Aleister Crowley made a haphazard attempt at affixing some of the trigrams to the Tree of Life, he did so in such a sloppy nonsensical half-assed way as to render the attempt almost useless, and it was not ordered with any mathematical precision. He seemed to be oblivious to the nature of binary ordering, even though this knowledge would have been made available to him via the work of the much earlier genius of G.W. Leibniz. 

 One unfamiliar with the work of Leibniz or binary ordering in general might ask, how does one affix the Hexagrams in a rational way to the Tree of Life at all? This is a good question and lies in the way we assign numerical value to the binary structures, and to a little rule m1thr0s discovered called The Proximity Principle. Both of these will be covered in great detail in his upcoming book and will be taught in the upcoming March coursework, and a booklet has already been published on this material as well as a discussion available for free within the Mutational Alchemy Tarot Book itself, so it is really a subject for another time, but suffice it to say it allows us to determine in what order we should place the ATU and Hexagrams alike based on their inherent numerical value, and this determines where they are placed on the tree using the Proximity Principle. 
       The prime difference between the Primordials and the Temporals is that in the Primordials, the Hexagrams emerge and are affixed without any acknowledgement to Sephirothic primacy, they ascend on the left side (Earth Ascending) and descend on the right side (Heaven Descending) and this pays homage to both the Chinese observation of the natural tendencies of Heaven and Earth, as well as the placement of male and female elements in the West. (For example the Left Pillar on the Tree of Life is female, the Right is male, the right hand of the body is masculine, the left feminine and so on…) In the Temporals, special attention is paid to the Sephiroth, so that the paired Hexagrams with the nature of being reciprocal inverses (naturally, in the chronologies, this is not artificially arranged) are affixed in a rational ordering to the Sephiroth themselves first, and then the remainder of the Hexagrammal pairs are laid out according to the previously discussed Proximity Principle and binary value. 
      These two great charts are shown below for anyone to see for themselves what an astonishing and marvelous impact these will have on both the I Ching and the world of Hermetic Qabbalah.
      For an even more astonishing expose on just how perfectly these hexagrams are aligned with Western Hermetic Alchemy and Qabbalah, it’s suggested one examine the full range of the Tarot correspondences, both traditional and the new Mutational Alchemy ordering, where the Emperor has been corrected to be placed properly (with his new letter of Tzaddi, connecting him with the Liber Tzaddi transmission) instead of the Star. This was executed according to the Proximity Principle and it’s laws governing the rational ordering of the Hebrew letter system which Crowley failed to attend to, simply because he didn’t have the tools the scholars of antiquity used to formulate the Tarot correspondences that come down to us through the Golden Dawn lineage. I hope this little ditty has answered some of the more pressing questions that I hope more than a few of you are having. None of the assertions that we make here are based on guesswork, but on careful scholarly work and much time and effort has been put forth to assist anyone in handling this work for themselves in order that they might experience the amazing effects that m1thr0s 729 encountered decades before and than so many have testified to in working with this strong and powerful monstrosity of a system. It has so many secrets laying beneath its surface that we will certainly not see the end of its mystery in my lifetime, or the next few dozen generations is my guess. There is also a ton of work I have not discussed right here, but this is the core doctrine we adhere to around here that both deviates sharply from most other schools out there, yet is exceedingly attractive to those who are coming from old and stale Western traditions with seemingly no clue in sight as to where to go to next. “It furthers one to have somewhere to go.” the I Ching.
       Those who understand and appreciate this stuff will do so because they have the faculty to understand it at a fundamental and mathematical level and can check all of the godamned proofs for themselves. The detractors will whine on and on about how it “isn’t what Crowley believed” or that it is merely another New Age attempt at degrading their traditions, but those who understand and appreciate progress will see that this sort of work is the breath of fresh air Hermetic Alchemy has needed desperately for over a century now. The problem with tradition and the I Ching is nonexistent since the Chinese government has been actively hostile towards the mere mention of the I Ching for over a hundred years now, so that even my modern friends in China have never even heard of the I Ching and they are mostly forbidden from discussing it in depth, even though we now know that the underlying mathematics forms the backbone of the DNA code itself (See my article under the I Ching section: DNA and the I Ching explained, or Yan’s book DNA and the I Ching) The same goes for detractors on the scientific spectrum. They will all play catch up with this eventually, just as they did in 1952 with the official discovery of the DNA strand by Watson and Crick.

our life in consciousness

“The Khabs is in the Khu, not the Khu in the Khabs.” This is one of the simplest statements at the start of the Nu Aeon, that reasserts the definite nature of Man as a divine being. It can also be stated “The Star is in the Spirit, not the Spirit in the Star.” Since the class A publication also asserts that each and every one of us, Man or Woman, is a Star, then this line becomes crucial to understanding the physics of Stars. Another phrase we decided to use around TAI to help people understand their nature is *consciousness stars* a term which illuminates consciousness itself as something which is driving this whole *Life* mess to begin with, and is intimately linked to the idea of Stars. 
       Finally we have the assertion that there is a division between that illuminating, knowledgeable and willful consciousness and our state of being within matter or, within our body. 
      Why would a seemingly limitless, intelligent and creative force, like the personification of consciousness, limit itself within forgetful and limited flesh? Why would beings we humans have visualized as Vishnu, Hermes and Bes, want to limit themselves by becoming humans or any other super intelligent, self-aware species?
      We are the Gods, there is no doubt about that. There is No God but Man, as we say often enough around here – only degrees of power, I might add. The gods incarnate all the time amidst us – we see them do this blatantly and obviously as Krsna or Ravana, historically, but the everyday aspects of God or Goddess amongst us are just as interesting and wonderful. The Hellenic people knew full well that Hermes was the supreme personification of Man’s highest ideal, the true friend of Man, and that he manifested as Man, from within – he didn’t galavant around the skies on his pegasus – these were metaphors for the sacred reality, the initiatory mysteries.  In our own often miserable and challenging experiences throughout life, many times it is not obvious that we are completely divine in nature, and eternal, even though many authoritative doctrines try to inform us of this, such as the Bhagavad Gita and the Tibetan Book of the Dead. 
      What is the purpose of incarnating in the flesh, if not to play video games, drink beer and eat pizza? Probably to gather something or learn something here we could not possibly attain in loftier abodes. Entertainment may seem like a cheap answer, but in an eternity, boredom is a very real hazard. Lack of new things and new experiences could very well lead to depression and inhibition. Even if consciousness doesn’t need to procreate – it does need to be able to sustain itself under the forces of entropy.
       Some believe that all experience is necessary and what is wanted by Nuit. Nuit is called the Star Goddess, or the Queen of Infinite Space. In my experience, she is very fiercely opposed to pain and injustice, and isn’t the impassive experience hoarder who cares nothing for the pains of mortals, as some metaphysicists claim. These mortals are herself, and her consort. If she is not the personification of half the relationship between Yin and Yang, then she is very close to this Taijitu’s comprehensive reality. 
      No, Nuit is a being of perfect justice, but she is also a mathematician. The pains of this Great Work are going to be worth it in the end, when we attain what it is we seek. As I have already stated, I believe this end goal is the enormous playground we are building for our selves. Everything from the concept of family and friends, games and good food, is all part of the Great Work, arising from necessity and the opinion of our greatest authorities that these things will keep us warm and comfortable through the long watch of eternity. 
      The calculation that we would do better incarnating and gathering experiences from a position of limitation is Nuit’s mind at work. Each of us is a Star or Universe, a point within the consciousness web building a world within ourselves of pure pleasure and sophistication. Yet there is another purpose to this work and it is not insignificant. Consciousness must be trained. To know that your head is a head and your hands and feet are what they are, (the basis of the Sephiroth as a control panel) you really have to experience that firsthand and get it drilled into your mind by constantly walking, getting to know the way mind works in a 3D environment and with other consciousnesses when encountered. Life isn’t perfect, but it’s the best solution she could come up with, compromising between the two great forces of Yin and Yang.
      Each and every one of us are mirror variations of the Tree and the Star, the map of the Body of Light that expresses what we are, in mechanical terms, just as a map of the human body doesn’t fully describe human diversity, so the variables in each human are both essential and unsurprisingly present. How can a point of consciousness, a star, know what victory is, if they have never tasted the glory of Netzach? How can anyone know the relationship of Binah and Chokmah to a child, if they have never been a father, a mother or a child? These are the qualities of a star that are inherent to each of us, and must be mastered inside of a classroom environment suited to Stars – baby universes. That’s Earth. Earth is a lot of other things, too, but it serves as a pretty harsh learning environment for Stars.
      Nuit, or Mother Nature, is a hard teacher, but she isn’t insane, as some in the Thelemic community would have us believe, no more than a mathematician’s’ abstractions are insanity in the minds of those who cannot comprehend equations. We have to always presume that the temporary suffering is an unavoidable side effect of a worthwhile goal. She and her consort, the personification of Father Nature, “Had” the winged serpent of light, both go out of their way to assure us of this reality, that they recognize suffering as something that we are going through, and that this is not the ultimate goal of the Great Work, only shadows that pass and are done.
      The admixture of Yin, Yang and Jen appears to be at the heart of our weird environment. Matter itself is the personification of the Yin principle – perfectly receptive and earnestly devoted to Yang, following like a mare. The Jen flux emerges from these two forces, according to traditional Chinese doctrine, at which point the so-called “10,000 things” emerge – that is, everything else we can classify, from chemicals to species. While some presume that this is a random occurrence, for those who allow for the possibility that the universe is intentional. Not in the way we might think – a VR programme or some all-powerful lonely meta-being, but as a place for our own minds to rest, forget and create something better. Most of all, it’s a place to extract those parts of our self – Yin and Yang, that interfere with our perfect state of being in harmony – what the Nipponese refer to as ‘wa’.
      The tales of consciousness gone amok in space play on our imaginations. Some of the stories are derived from earlier true stories or ancient myths from hundreds of years ago. The tales of stranded explorers eating each other, the myth of the wendigo, or the other various grotesque expressions of intelligent life (as it reaches higher levels of refinement equal to Man) are well known. This is a very spooky world already – we don’t need space to amplify the strange phenomenon going on with consciousness. Placing the phenomenon in the context of space makes it more believable to people who have fooled themselves into believing they’re exempt from the natural law of the universe. And yet these tales often reflect the reality we live in every day. No one is immune to the effects of consciousness. If we don’t know what to expect from the effects of consciousness, our work with Mutational Alchemy can be unnecessarily alarming. If we don’t know what to do when being confronted with shards of our own rogue mind, either internal or external, then we can find ourselves standing knee-deep in shit. This can happen spontaneously, at any time, not just during magic mushroom trips.  This is why we always practice *Right Thinking* and *Right Action* in accordance with traditional Eastern doctrine. Knowing what to expect and knowing what to do about it is very important. We can attain this mental asana by researching what others have gone through.
      We see hints of wild, untrained consciousness all the time in mythology and folklore: the Fae, or fair-folk, elves and dryads, to weirder, rarer things that feed off energy or terrify incarnate beings, such as the Mothman or Jersey Devil. Some of these other mythological beings appear to be just a step above Man itself, shamans who quit their physical body a long time ago, the sásq’ets or Sasquatch, and the Arcadian satyrs headed by Silenus. 
      Consciousness is capable of immense diversity of form, and it’s easy for any point of consciousness (a Star) to travel vast distances in a blink. This is what happens when we get pulled up into other realms, or consciously go there. There is a deep and complex perfection beneath all of the chaos, but that perfection, encapsulated within images like the Adam Kadmon Series by m1thr0s, is necessarily always on the hunt for a greater reality, a Completion that finally achieves *Maximum Inertia* and *Minimum Stress* once and for all. That calculation is beyond our ability to solve, and yet we are all part of the ongoing processing Nuit is performing in order to get all of us there.
       At core we are all essentially bound up with the Jen flux, which was created by Yin and Yang itself out of pure necessity. This is what the various authors of antiquity, the enlightenment and even modern times are talking about when they posit that we are all one at heart. Yet this unity cannot be undermined by the pointless argument that we must not partake in all of the powers of the Tree at an appropriate time: the works of Mars, of Geburah, and the Lunar, sexual, psychotropic illusions of Yesod. 
      The only law that must be obeyed is to never interfere with the Will of another. This is why child abuse is the clearest and most unbreakable law of the Liber al Vel Legis triad: any interference with the child’s sexual development is one of the basest of crimes next to religious coercion, since it spins a Star out of its natural orbit, often irreparably.  (“… acts invasive of another individual’s equal rights are implicitly self-aggressions. … Such acts as rape, and the assault or seduction of infants, may therefore be justly regarded as offences against the Law of Liberty, and repressed in the interests of that Law.” – Aleister Crowley, The Law is For All)
        The rest of the playing field is fair game, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the trajectory of another star, right? Well, not exactly. Any action could potentially, adversely affect another star. What’s more, stars kill and eat each other all the time. So we have to presume our morality arises from some real need, otherwise, it’s probably pretty dangerous for us to go around asserting right and wrong. It may be that intent matters a lot, but it doesn’t wholly forgive unconscious ignorance. The answer to our puzzle is solved if we approach things from the perspective that we’re all experiencing what we do to each other, that we’re one, deep down, beyond the place where the 10,000 things arise. Well, maybe *three* would be more accurate. This is Abrahadabra of course, you’ll never hear us trying to wrench the Crown of All away from triangles.
