“While Pazuzu is most frequently referred to as “King of the wind-demons” in various ritual texts and accompanying incantations recorded on tablets and other Pazuzu artifacts unearthed at Nineveh, Sultantepe, and Uruk (Heeßel, 2002), I claim contrary to Heeßel in particular that it is made abundantly clear by a number of artifacts that Pazuzu was respected as a God, not merely as a helpful demon Who reigns in or banishes malevolent lesser demons. A remarkable item on display at the Israel Museum, 93.45.73, is a bronze head with a suspension loop on top. What is remarkable about this Pazuzu head is that it possesses pair of horns which encircle the top of the head, and turn up at the front, typical of those shown on crowns festooning the heads of revered Gods such as Šamaš and Ištar. (Gabbay, 2001) Another find that shows Pazuzu with Divine rather than mere demonic trappings also comes from the Israel Museum’s collection. It is an octagonal pyramidical carnelian seal — BLMJ Seal 1060 — that bears a well-defined relief of Pazuzu on its bottom. He is depicted in His unmistakeable chimeric form with a leonine or canine face, four wings, erect penis, and scorpion tail. Here He is given a crescent headdress and a ball-staff, which rests before His feet. (Gabbay, 2001) Both the crescent and the standard have obvious Divine connotations, though the reader should not assume that Pazuzu was in any way being merged with the Moon God, Sin.” –

Sound familiar? Yes, the figure of Pazuzu in the Israel Museum resembles the creatures on the Ningishzidda Grail. They are Djinn! Fire critters:

• what is the “TwinStar”? •

This article is another attempt at making one of the most fundamental assertions of Mutational Alchemy (The TwinStar) as simple and straight forward as I possibly can because it seems as though most previous attempts have fallen flat on their face, despite dozens of articles and private discussions I have laboriously undertaken.

In its most basic sense, the TwinStar is a sigil built upon the framework of the Pythagorean Tetracys of the Decad. It is the way we count out the points of the Tetractys that gives us this sigil. Scrying the lines of the sigil then becomes a meditation practice. Let’s begin by scrutinizing the Tetractys itself.

figure #1 the Tetractys of the Decad, which the TwinStar is based upon
figure #1 the Tetractys of the Decad, which the TwinStar is based upon

In its most basic form, the Tetractys is a collection of 10 points arranged in a perfect equilateral triangle with one point at the top tier, two points at the second tier, three points at the third tier and four points at the bottom tier. It was a highly venerated symbol among the Pythagoreans and Neo-Pythagoreans alike. It was referred to as Logos, the manifestation of God on Earth and was said to contain all the rules of dimensionality since 1 point connected by no lines gives us 0 dimensions, 2 points connected by one line gives us one dimension, 3 points connected by two lines gives us two dimensions and 4 points connected by 3 lines gives us three dimensional space. But this is just the tip of the iceberg as to why this symbol garnered so much praise and adoration and I would highly recommend the serious inquirer to Google it to learn more. Most of what this article will be defining is widespread knowledge already and can easily be referenced in other places. A few things will be unique to Mutational Alchemy doctrines which can still be pieced together logically.

418grid01
figure #2 Editor’s Note: The Adam Kadmon 418 Grid, revealing the internal Tree of Life discovered by m1thr0s. This is NOT an old doctrine and is NOT a Freemason doctrine. It is part of the NEW research The Abrahadabra Institute is home to.

Figure #2 demonstrates what happens when the Tetractys is extended all the way out under the auspices of Abrahadabra. Not only does the Tree of Life nestle neatly within but the 10 points have now become easily identifiable as the 10 shaded chambers referred to as the Secret Chiefs. So the Tetractys has an undeniable relationship to Abrahadabra under the guidance of the Secret Chiefs. The grid comprises exactly 100 internal equilateral triangles making it synonymous with the Kamea of Malkuth, Kingdom, or Earth. Each of the four descending elemental worlds contain their own tetractys if you look at it closely.

The way we count the 10 Sephiroth of the Tree of Life is important because the inclusion of Daath actually gives us 11 spheres (or epicenters) but Daath is not treated as a Sephira and consequently has no number per se. It is not inaccurate to think of Daath as a “not sephera” (or “not number”) representing grammar and syntax within numbers without being an actual number, any more than an addition sign, for instance. It bears a distinct relationship to numbers but is not a number in itself. Its identifying convention has been to assign it a dash, indicating that  we recognize that it is there but treat it separately from the 32 Paths of Wisdom comprised of the 10 Sephiroth (literally, numbers) and 22 Paths. When we come to it in any sort of count we call out “dash”, according to its properties. Thus our chronological count along the Tree of Life from 1 to 10 reads:  1-2-3-“dash”-4-5-6-7-8-9-10. I mention this now because it plays a part in how we navigate the TwinStar as well. Always bear it in mind that when we count out the TwinStar we are attempting to elevate the Tree of Life as a whole. The Tree of Life is a mathematical subset of Abrahadabra and the Tetractys is our surest guide to uplifting its properties correctly. Similarly, the principle of alchemical levity impacting the Tree of Life is the best way to characterize what is occurring whenever we raise the TwinStar incantation.

figure #3 Editor’s Note: Another discovery by m1thr0s, the Lo Shu Square flanked by the Tetractys of the Decad. This is a master formula of Mutational Alchemy.

At this point it would be prudent to mention the Lo Shu magickal square, since one of the things we are trying to accomplish with the TwinStar is as close a numerical super-symmetry as we can get. Nothing achieves this as efficiently as magic squares but we can get pretty close notwithstanding. Figure #3 demonstrates what is called the first magic square flanked by tetracti on 4 sides. All horizontal, vertical and diagonal rows add to 15. Magickal squares have an important role to play in different types of magickal operations since we can also substitute letters in place of numbers to accomplish detailed and diverse sigil workings. Sigils built upon magickal squares or triangles have a tendency to be much more potent than those which are not. This principle of numerical super-symmetry is the most apparent reason why this would seem to hold true.

figure #6 The Complete TwinStar
figure #6 The Complete TwinStar

Figures #4 and #5 demonstrate that it takes two full rotations 1-10 to give us the complete pattern, or sigil displayed in figure #6. In each case the “dash” comes right after point #3 and completes the triangle. We then fall back to point #4 and continue our course to point  #10. This infinity loop is an integral part of the TwinStars’ action. If we do not complete the loop we are left with a broken mess instead of the stunning perfection we get upon successful completion of the loop. Pushing Daath to point #1 in this manner has the general effect of repairing the division between the Supernals and the rest of the Sephiroth, even if only momentarily. It is useful to think of the TwinStar as a perpetual process that we join in with periodically but is itself ongoing all the time of its own accord. We are justified in thinking this way because the TwinStar is an active principle built into the fabric of things so it really is omnipresent with respect to the Tetractys.

figure #9 The Adam Kadmon with the TwinStar

While the numbers method of invoking the TwinStar is unquestionably useful it is not the only means at our disposals. Figures #7 and #8 demonstrate how the word Abrahadabra can be applied letter by letter to achieve the same ends. Because it contains 11 letters it even accommodates our treatment of Daath. A step by step example follows: 1=Aleph, 2=Beth, 3=Resh, “dash”=Aleph, 4=Hé, 5=Aleph, 6=Daleth, 7=Aleph, 8=Beth, 9=Resh, 10=Aleph. The proper protocol is to always begin with the Counter-Clockwise direction and conclude on the Clockwise direction for the first loop. For the second loop we reverse this, starting Clockwise and culminating Counter-Clockwise. It takes a little time and practice to get used to this but it very soon becomes fluid. At the end of each loop we run a Center & Ground action which I will discuss momentarily.

For the moment I want to reassert that ANY 11 letter word or phrase will work as well as the numbers method – arguably better depending on the situation at hand. The phrase “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law” happens to be an eleven word phrase that some will no doubt appreciate as a suitable means of invoking the TwinStar. Any of these methods suffice active scrying but there is also passive gazing which uses no words of any kind and thus needs no embellishment other than to acknowledge it. Generally, active scrying is a better form to adhere to when invoking the TwinStar as passive gazing is naturally incorporated to the extent that we are paying attention to what we are doing. But my objective right here and now is to define what the TwinStar is and not venture off into the various alternative means of invoking it.

Figure #9 is arguably the most important image being published in this article as it demonstrates the relationship between the leylines of the TwinStar and the Sephiroth. Always remember that the objective in raising the spell of the TwinStar is to raise the foundation of the Tree of Life itself. That the TwinStar coordinates so perfectly with the Sephiroth tells us that it has the ability to collect the Tree of Life up into itself without modifying the Tree itself in any way. The relationship is unquestionably like Tree and Star where the Tree is a mathematical and geometrical subset of The Tetractys and consequent TwinStar. Thus Mutational Alchemy commonly refers to the TwinStar as the star half of the Tree and Star equation. It IS the star that the Tree has the wherewithal to become.

figure #10
figure #10

The closing action comes at the end of any finished loop where it serves to lock in the loop, center and ground it. You can use anything you prefer to close but I recommend using A-V-M-N to the circle and H-V-A, A-Th-H for the ascending triangle and final drop.

In application we begin from the top pronouncing AHH-OHH-MMM-GNN to the circle and AHH-HAY-OHH-AHH for the ascending triangle to AHH-TAH-HAY for the final drop and descending triangle. The direction of the closing action should match up with the direction of the loop you are building. I also include a Final Close at the very end which is simply a repetition of the Clockwise closing action. The closing action is important and should never be omitted. It adds finality, continuity and strength to the creation of the TwinStar.

Figure #11 is just a quick way of recapping everything that has been laid out in this brief article. Some years ago I created a little animated GIF that demonstrates all of this which at present is included in my article entitled tikkun olam (repairing the world) which can be viewed here:
http://abrahadabra.com/2014/07/19/tikkun-olam-repairing-the-world/
I hope that between this article and that one the TwinStar is crystal clear but I rather doubt that it will be because experience teaches us that nothing replaces hands-on practice when it comes to ironing out the details. Nevertheless, I have gone about as far as I am able between this article and that one.

• pursuing perfection •

The pursuit of perfection underscores every major religion on earth, yet perfection has virtually never been defined in a way that is pragmatically sensible from a logical point of view. It is only in the years following the end of World War II that such a definition might even have been a practical possibility, since prior to this it would never have been thought possible that humankind might come to threaten the balance of Nature itself on a global scale. Now we know differently and as I sit here hammering out this article in 2015 the discussion of perfection takes on the question of sustainability more than at any time in human history. Avoiding the consequences of global warming would amount to a practical application of perfection! Reversing the damage done to our environment and restoring Nature’s rich bounty would amount to a caliber of perfection requiring a miraculous change of events in human behavior, not at all likely to occur.  Suddenly perfection is adopting a very real and a very urgent definition.

Religion, generally, has maintained a pretty dismal view of Earth, portraying it over and over again as something to be disparaged and escaped. Called the Realm of Exploitation, both Hinduism and Buddhism  have portrayed Earth as a place of unspeakable suffering, the only solution of which was to quit the cycle of birth and rebirth that draws us to it time and time again. While not universally viewed in this way in Judaism, distortional spin-off religions have generally followed suit with this view of the world so that perfection has been viewed as a matter of successfully escaping its clutches by one means or another. So long as Earth is viewed as the enemy of perfection there is very little chance of including it in any plans that share an imagined perfection with the Earth itself. If it turns out that either Heaven or Hell are internal states and not external places then the possibility of realizing Heaven on Earth is decidedly disadvantaged by this grim outlook of Earth.

The most noteworthy exception to this anti-earth attitude is Qabbalah which defines Earth simply as Kingdom and does not assign characteristics of good or evil to it. East-Asian Yin/Yang philosophy also does not succumb to this notion of an inherently evil Earth where Earth is viewed as the Yin Principle opposing Heaven as the Yang. Tantricism, with its emphasis on the balancing of opposites, does not hold with the idea that Earth must be subdued in order for Heaven to prevail. Heaven out of balance is just as detrimental to our collective well being as Eath run amok, so this notion of Earth as an inherently bad place is not universally held to but has become a kind of fetish among the proponents of apocalypse for whom the path to perfection has become synonymous with the suppression of Earth. The exaltation of Life, Light, Love and Liberty are viewed as universal qualities generated internally where man himself is the right and proper focus of this miraculous attainment.  The thing for us to stay attuned to is the how with respect to the pursuit of perfection. Thus Pythagoras advocates To Know Thyself as the root of philosophical inquiry. Without a keen sense of who we are on a cosmic scale we cannot hope to achieve a balancing of opposites that has any enduring meaning. This means staying abreast of new knowledge that emerges and constantly updating our esoteric knowledge to attune itself to exoteric knowledge about ourselves and our environments. This is why the creation of maps plays such an important role in the ongoing pursuit of perfection.  The cross-referencing of ancient maps with modern knowledge yields new maps better geared to the knowledge we have on tap – knowledge that is bought and paid for through the dedicated labors of our best minds over extended periods of time. These new maps put us in a position of strength pertaining to the ancient goals which do not really change so much in themselves. Rather, what changes are the strategies which our new maps reveal.

The following chart demonstrates how the four bigrams (two line structures) pair against guanine (G), cytosine (C), thymine (U) and adenine (A) to give us a new and revolutionary system of 64 hexagrams that 5,000 years of Chinese assignments could not have given us. This eventually leads us to a new kind of binary hexagrams, the possibilities of which are as startling as they are universal.
rna01.lg

This next chart redefines the Lo Shu diagram with its 9 ternary bigrams that gives us the elemental properties of its 9 internal chambers. This has never been accomplished before until now and would not be possible without the syncretic nature of Mutational Alchemy. Staying abreast of all available knowledge at our disposals is what qabbalah is all about.

DNAYiJing01
DNAYiJing02

Qabalistic philosophy is inherently syncretic in nature which puts more on its plate than most since it is constantly cross-referencing everything that comes before its view. This is the only way that important new knowledge can be identified and adjusted. In 1953 a body of new knowledge was introduced that will forever change the way we look at geomantic magick. Franklin, Watson and Crick and their publication of the DNA code language was not intended to advance the state of 21st century alchemy but clearly does so notwithstanding. The binary nature of the YiJing had already been identified in the 1600’s by Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz but what could not have been known was the stunning similarities between the YiJing and DNA. Several important books and dozens of scholastic articles have been written on this subject since but my purpose here is to hyphenate how unexpected  breakthroughs in scientific understandings can radically impact our sense of spirituality and perfection.

For an informed qaballist, the Tree of Life is divided into 32 Paths of Wisdom. The 64 binary hexagrams have always been paired into 32 complementary opposites. Once we know that the 64 DNA templates are a direct parallel to the traditional 64 YiJing hexagrams, we only need some way to align the hexagrams to the Tree of Life to give us a map sufficient to assert perfection against the Tree. We also need a word or method to exercise this assertion. It happens that Mutational Alchemy answers to all of these issues and more. Thus we have every good reason for a high level of confidence that Mutational Alchemy puts us squarely on the road to Perfection, though in truth there are still certain mysterious elements lacking.  These have to do with the external environment, a very difficult thing to control with exact precision. This is one of the reasons some practitioners confine their work to special caves deemed suitable for visualization work. Others establish and maintain temple space reserved for visualization practice. Though not 100% crucial, controlling one’s external environment is a routine protocol in the ongoing pursuit of perfection. We need more capable individuals working along lines that can actually succeed instead of wasting their lives away on fantasy projections which cannot, or following in the footseps of frauds and dinosaurs who have no earthly idea where perfection lies or how it can be secured.

m1thr0s

• the proximity principle •

vertical & horizontal hexagrammal pairs

*Author’s Note*
*All posts by m1thr0s at this site are amended articles extracted from a much bigger work-in-progress that will be defining Mutational Alchemy in all of its diverse principles and applications.  Since there is a great deal to this topic which is months away from completion, certain of its tenets deemed as standalone topics are being allowed to run ahead of the finished book. No responsible theoretician would ever imagine himself to be the only one pioneering important new insights all by himself so that where certain breakthroughs strike me as vital to the overall discussion at hand, these will occasionally find themselves posted as independent articles. This should serve several purposes at once, creating interest in the larger work on the one hand while facilitating a sense of fellowship with other like pioneers at the same time.

One of the most central tasks of Mutational Alchemy has been aligning the 32 hexagrammal pairs of the Yi Jing (aka I Ching) to the 32 Sephiroth and Paths of the Qabbalistic Tree of Life. While the Yi Jing consists of 64 binary hexagrams in total, the convention (since the time of the King Wen arrangement) has been to group them together in 32 balanced pairs. The majority of these balanced pairs are referred to as vertical pairs (or inverted pairs), indicating that the  second hexagram is exactly the same as the first one, turned 180 degrees on its head.  In cases where the second hexagram produces the exact same hexagram as the first, the convention has been to resort to horizontal pairs (or lateral pairs) where each line of the second hexagram is the polar opposite of that same line in the first one. In this way all of the hexagrams 1-64 can be reduced to 32 balanced pairs of one type or the other, without omissions or duplications of any kind.

The reason we would like to be able to do this stems from two most apparent observations regarding both of these metaphysical systems viewed as a natural syncretic fusion. In the first instance there has always existed the general doctrine of balancing opposites within the Tree of Life itself as the recommended methodology of maintaining a kind of peak efficiency therein but also as a means of increasing our ability to receive and transmit mind and matter energy by way of calculated wave-cancellations achieving a type of zeroing effect thought to be essential to the alchemical levity principle. According to this doctrine (asserted both east and west) we are able to experience ethereal ascension (and everything that this entails) by means of balancing opposites in some deliberate way. Thus, by degree, we are able to liberate the Tree of Life from all of those constraints that clog its circuitry or drag against it continuously. Make no mistake about this. The Tree of Life suffers relentless assaults in this world left unattended. Take good care of your Tree and it will take good care of you. Abandon it and all bets are off.

Drawing upon focused intention we are able to align the Tree of Life as a whole in accordance to the Divine Will of Kether (Crown) from the lowest planes to the loftiest plateaus. Since Mutational Alchemy has evolved a method of simulating hexagrammal structures as a controlled visualization exercise, the 32 balanced pairs of the Yi Jing amount to a perfect template for achieving this dynamic balancing of opposites. That the Yi Jing is built upon the same mathematical matrix as the DNA code itself means we have a very high level of confidence in its intrinsic application to life in all its forms, from the lowliest little mushroom to Albert Einstein and beyond. But how can we know which hexagrammal pairs are best suited to the various coordinates within the Tree of Life?  While it is possible to identify several discreet numerical chronologies within the 64 binary hexagrams, the Tree of Life offers us no such ordering mechanism until the Proximity Principle is finally invoked.

the ten sephiroth
figure #1 – the ten sephiroth

Figure #1:  In order to understand how and why the Proximity Principle works as perfectly as it does we need to first run through a very basic primer on the qabbalistic Tree of Life. We begin from the ten sephiroth commonly referred to as the ten vessels or the ten emanations of Ain Soph Aur, or the Limitless Light from which all things originate and are thought to return eventually. There is much which can be said of how these ten sephiroth came to be but what most concerns us here is that they are identified as enumerations (or numbers). By default, this means that in qabbalistic thinking numbers are the highest expression of mind and matter. They are the purest language we can turn to in unravelling the mysteries of Life in its infinite diversity and are thus our surest guide to Truth as well. Numbers allow us to scrutinize the whole of creation without assuming anything with respect to God or some other imagined Creator operating  behind the curtain as it were. Numbers do not tell why things are as they are since they chiefly attend to the what but in many cases the why can be gleaned logically on the basis of  rational necessity laid down in the numbers.

Not included in Figure #1 are the topological constances of  Ain Soph Aur or its antapex counterpoint Daath which positions between sephiras 3 and 4 on the Tree of Life schematic.  That’s because neither of these epicenters are regarded as vessels per se, nor even emanationsbut are hidden (even from the hidden) and have never been considered to be sephiroth in themselves. Their roles are paramount in all cases but their properties are set apart from the Sephiroth and Paths.  We approach them somewhat differently than sephiroth and paths accordingly.

the lightning bolt
figure #2 – the lightning bolt

Figure #2:  illustrates the ten sephiroth superimposed by what is typically referred to as the lightning bolt. There are two kinds of lightning bolt descending from Kether (Sephira #1, Crown) generally conforming to the principles of Yin and Yang of which the one displayed here is the dominant, Yang bolt. There are numerous ways to analyze the lightning bolts but for our purpose at this time the important point to observe is that it establishes the chronology of the ten sephiroth from one to ten. Chronology is the science of arranging events in their order of occurrence in time, so the lightning bolt is giving us our timeline while the sephiroth are the discreet events occurring along that timeline.  The lightning bolt is also coordinating space since it begins from an above beginning (or alpha) location and concludes at a below (or omega) one. In all, we have a coherent Heaven Descending chronology established which coincidentally adheres to a 4:4 timing making it especially robust in terms of visualization applications.

That the chronological ordering of the ten sephiroth is entirely coherent means that we can implement that standard uniformly across the Tree of Life Paths as well. Exactly why this seems to have never been done before is something I have no explanation for but this is a good time to point out that the qabbalistic Tree of Life is an ongoing work in progress with numerous competing fractions attacking it from both similar and dissimilar points of view. Nor is linear chronology the only possible standard for us to build upon, but it is at least one standard that can be applied correctly without resorting to ambiguous subjective rationalizations.

the 22 manifest paths
figure #3 – the 22 manifest paths

Figure #3:  illustrates the dominant Tree of Life today with its 22 manifest paths, but there are more than one Tree of Life in circulation and there have been some pretty smart people proclaiming some terribly inaccurate models, apparently unable to ascertain the gaping holes in their own logic. The Tree of Life is a perennial theme across many cultures over very long spans of time. I will explain the importance of the arrows in a moment.

Mutational Alchemy has a distinct advantage over other models by virtue of having an actual physics brewing at the heart of everything. That raises the bar by more than just a notch or two and forces us to go where others may have feared to go in foregone epochs.  But the Tree of Life has become a compendium of half-logics over time where the standards being adhered to are lacking any respectable system of checks and balances, so people can assert just about anything and no one can correct them except to say that it does (or does not) agree with some other half-baked assertion.  Mutational Alchemy confines itself to falsifiable truth as much as humanly possible and this allows us a very different approach than we see in most other models.

the 16 hidden paths
figure #4 – the 16 hidden paths

Figure #4:  displays the 16 hidden paths  which ought to have garnered a great deal more attention than they have by now. The 16 hidden paths (aka the hidden diamond) define all those pathways not accounted for in the 22 manifest paths system. There are many characteristics of the hidden diamond that make it vital to any serious discussion of the inner workings of the Tree of Life. I am including it here as a kind of rebuttal of the Lurianic Tree of Life arrangement as well as various other arrangements that may assert a different ordering of paths without considering the stunning uniformity of the Hidden Diamond taken as a whole. In point of fact it has hardly been observed at all – an omission which (once again) leaves us dealing only in half-truths with respect to Tree of Life analytics. In Mutational Alchemy, the Hidden Diamond is accounted for via the 16 binary tetragrams which more-or-less parallel the so-called 16 geomantic figures (popular with medieval kabbalists) but for certain alchemical errors found rampant within that historical doctrine and methodology.  Another term for the 16 binary tetragrams is Tetragrammaton, since that is exactly what they amount to. How or why this could be so adamantly disregarded for so long is anyone’s best guess but it should serve as a reminder to us all how much work has been left unattended with respect to the Tree of Life.

the 48 sephiroth & paths
figure #5 – the 48 sephiroth & paths

Figure #5:  simply combines figures #3 & #4 to clarify the totality of Tree of Life paths available to us. It is always a good practise to take stock of all available possibilities and resources when embarking on a project involving any sort of alchemical distillation.  This allows us to be reasonably confident that we have not omitted anything vital to our final calculations, or if anything is omitted, that it can be accounted for on some coherent basis. If we were creating a map of any geological terrain, we might leave out underground water tables for instance, reserving that for a different kind of map altogether. In many respects the type of map we are dealing with in the Tree of Life is even simpler than the geological map would be, despite it being infinitely more important.

So at this point we should easily recognize that we are looking at 10 Sephiroth and a grand total of 38 linear paths, 22 of which can be deemed emanative or manifest + 16 secretive or hidden. The so-called Proximity Principle should (if we needed it to) be able to tell us the proper chronological order of either all or some of these linear pathways; which ever we choose to emphasize. As we will see, it does exactly that…

numbered sephiroth & paths
figure #6 – numbered sephiroth & paths

Figure #6:  Probably the first thing to be observed here is that this really isn’t very complicated. The only complication going on with this rationale is how so many reasonably intelligent and informed people seem to have altogether missed it, or else grossly underestimated the cost of downplaying it.

RULE: The closer the numerical proximity sephira to sephira, the smaller the path number.
Inversely: The further the numerical proximity sephira to sephira, the larger the path number.
Note: Since the Sephiroth 1-10 precede the Paths, our first path begins at #11:

◉Starting from Sephira #1: Three unclaimed manifest paths  (1–2, 1–3, 1–6)
◉sephira 1–2 = path #11  |  ◉sephira 1–3 = path #12  |  ◉sephira 1–6 = path #13

◉Starting from Sephira #2: Three unclaimed manifest paths  (2–3, 2–4, 2–6)
◉sephira 2–3 = path #14  |  ◉sephira 2–4 = path #15  |  ◉sephira 2–6 = path #16

◉Starting from Sephira #3: Two unclaimed manifest paths  (3–5, 3–6)
◉sephira 3–5 = path #17  |  ◉sephira 3–6 = path #18

◉Starting from Sephira #4: Three unclaimed manifest paths  (4–5, 4–6, 4–7)
◉sephira 4–5 = path #19  |  ◉sephira 4–6 = path #20  |  ◉sephira 4–7 = path #21

◉Starting from Sephira #5: Two unclaimed manifest paths  (5–6, 5–8)
◉sephira 5–6 = path #22  |  ◉sephira 5–8 = path #23

◉Starting from Sephira #6: Three unclaimed manifest paths  (6–7, 6–8, 6–9)
◉sephira 6–7 = path #24  |  ◉sephira 6–8 = path #25  |  ◉sephira 6–9 = path #26

◉Starting from Sephira #7: Three unclaimed manifest paths  (7–8, 7–9, 7–10)
◉sephira 7–8 = path #27  |  ◉sephira 7–9 = path #28  |  ◉sephira 7–10 = path #29

◉Starting from Sephira #8: Two unclaimed manifest paths  (8–9, 8–10)
◉sephira 8–9 = path #30  |  ◉sephira 8–10 = path #31

◉Starting from Sephira #9: One unclaimed manifest path  (9–10)
◉sephira 9–10 = path #32

That is the short and long of the Proximity Principle!  It is not a complicated rule of thumb in itself. It is both strong and irrefutable if we are going to base our path numerations on rational chronological ordering. Mutational Alchemy can do this without any hesitation inasmuch as it aspires to a falsifiable truth in all cases and is not beholden to any hand-me-down doctrines requiring of us to blindly acquiesce on the basis of faith alone. The Proximity Principle  affords us the ability to chronologically align the 32 hexagrammal pairs of the Yi Jing to the 32 Sephiroth and Paths of the qabbalistic Tree of Life with a high degree of confidence, complete with an inscrutable (internal) checks & balances. That confidence cannot be shattered by any rational criticisms I have ever been able to identify in the nearly 40 years I have been closely monitoring this state-of-the-art alchemical thesis.

22 hebrew letters
figure #7 – 22 hebrew letters

Figure #7:  demonstrates the logical placement of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet in coordinated alliance with the Proximity Principle. Eliphas Levi is often credited as the first occult scholar to have made this connection, which was later picked up and expounded upon by certain members of the Golden Dawn. In the Hebrew language, letters double as numbers and are assigned composite personality profiles as well as an odd assortment of alchemical attributions. There are at least two kinds of chronological orderings for us to be aware of which are very different from each other. The first type of chronology is empirical where events along a timeline are fundamentally objective, such as occurs with numbers. The second type of chronology is consensual  where events along a timeline are fundamentally subjective, and are thus more volatile and subject to change at any time. We can still make use of consensual chronologies but are much less able to rely upon them accordingly.

alchemical attributions
figure #8 – alchemical attributions

Figure #8:  catalogues the conventional alchemical assignments we find in practice at the time of this writing, in concert with the Proximity Principle such that their exact positionings are unique to this methodology and subject to change at a moment’s notice.  Here again, we can assimilate these kinds of orderings, but cannot rely upon them to be especially enduring. We even find multiple variations of these assignments asserted by the same author at different periods of their lives, so we can extrapolate from this that all such assertions are highly volatile by their natures, the crux of which is rooted in their consensual constitutions. The hexagrammal fields system asserted under Mutational Alchemy are of the empirical kind and are thus highly stable with the passing of time.  I am not listing those assigments here at this time but rather reserving that for another article and/or articles.

adjusted thoth assignments
figure #9 – adjusted thoth assignments

Figure #9:  demonstrates the effect of the Proximity Principle on the Book of Thoth tarot system created by Aleister Crowley and illustrated by Lady Frieda Harris. Crowley introduces a few changes of his own in that undertaking but still leaves the matter of positioning dangling precariously without adjustment, apparently oblivious of the fact that a rather serious problem exists here. In general, issues of this sort do not get addressed until we hit a crisis of some kind forcing their resolution. Mutational Alchemy can tackle this problem better than anyone else to date, simply because we need to know where each of these 32 balanced hexagrammal pairs belong with respect to the Tree of Life. Were there no particular need to resolve this technical issue it would probably go unchecked for another thousand years or more. Fortunately this particular need does exist so that this problem has now been identified and corrected. It may still take awhile for most people to become aware of the matter at all, but when they do they will be pleased to know that it has been thoroughly studied and spectacularly resolved.

note: where certain card positions have changed it is because they link to certain Hebrew Letters, so it is these letter/number assignments that is correcting their positions. Liber Al vel Legis (aka the Book of the Law) addresses Thoth assignments at one point in one small passage. It only addresses letter/image assignments and says nothing regarding positions. Book of Thoth enthusiasts will be pleased to know that Mutational Alchemy has not altered ANY of these letter/image assignments but where the Proximity Principle has repositioned a few letter/number values, the Book of Thoth positions have also changed. Everything follows on the numbers in this system.
