This milestone booklet marks the 3rd in a series of monthly symposiums held in Olympia, Washington (begin date: February 6, 2013) surrounding Mutational Alchemy theory and practice. These symposiums take the form of technical presentations followed by open discussion among participating parties. The intent is to stay as closely as possible to the information presented in the accompanying booklets, so for those that cannot attend the symposiums themselves, the booklets should provide readers with a fair overview of what was presented in each case.

In our third gathering we explored the *Proximity Principle*, a central organizational strategy in Mutational Alchemy that allows us a means of resolving the exact positions of the 22 Tree of Life Paths. Without being able to resolve the exact chronological order of Paths, we have no certain means of aligning the 32 hexagrammal pairs of the I Ching to the 32 Sephiroth & Paths of the Tree of Life. Aside from its importance to Mutational Alchemy, the Proximity Principle is a very revealing governing dynamic to the Tree of Life in general. Most readers will have never heard of this principle before, yet once it is clearly grasped the proper ordering of Paths will never be in question again.

Beyond the Tree of Life, the Proximity Principle opens up organizational possibilities for many other similar constructs rooted in a combination of energetic epicenters and connective pathways in general. The rationale underscoring the Proximity Principle translates seamlessly to many other branches of energy work within the Body of Light and is therefore a vital understanding applicable to anatomical networks of many kinds. This little booklet outlines a revolutionary insight that will forever change the way you think about these esoteric models.

Born in Berkeley, California in 1953 on the cusp of the water snake and dragon years, m1thr0s has been a dedicated student of the I Ching, Qabbalah, Tantra, and Esoteric (Spiritual) Alchemy since his early teens.

His art features many classical elements from mystical traditions around the world such as the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, the charismatic Flower of Life, the Pythagorean Tetractys, the I Ching Hexagrams, the Lo Shu Magic Square (and subsequent Magickal Squares), the Abrahadabra Grid, the (Hidden) Diamond of the Tree of Life, among others. He defines himself as a *Talismanic Artist* whose objective is to facilitate dynamic transformation in viewers through the simple act of viewing these powerful transcendental images.

m1thr0s’s art is tracking the *star* thesis of human evolutionary potential through exhaustive analysis of The Body of Light in lieu of Abrahadabra, as revealed in Aleister Crowley’s Liber Al vel Legis (The Book of the Law) in 1904. While not strictly a devotee of Crowley, his work often vindicates the best of Crowley’s own insights and provides us with the freshest window into *star alchemy* available anywhere in the modern world.

The groundbreaking synthesis of astrological, alchemical and geomantic elements in The Mutational Alchemy Tarot Deck are all his inventions and provide a rich and fertile ground for the viewer to explore. The art of m1thr0s affects subtle changes in us at a molecular level as is indicative of the highest examples of talismanic art.

The Proximity Principle is the topic for May at our monthly symposium (first Wednesday of the month). Attendees must RSVP. You can RSVP by replying to this post or by emailing me, izi@ningishzidda.com. We’ll be serving Washington wine, 2010 Desert Wind Tempranillo, and food. We were thinking of switching the day of the week we host it on, but Wednesday works for now. I’m planning a pretty big housewarming/Abrahadabra inaugural – not sure when that will take place. There’s talk of renting goats and so forth.

Oh yeah. Totally Satanic.

I had a wonderful opportunity to read a preview of the accompanying booklet m1thr0s wrote and I was very impressed. It’s not light reading, even though The Proximity Principle itself is fairly simple. Users of the TwinStar or the Sephiroth will come away with a better understanding of how and why we do certain things in active scrying meditation. Most of us need to know exactly what we are getting into in occultism.  The Proximity Principle lays to rest a few longstanding misconceptions about how the tree works, and the booklet explains how these misconceptions and falsehoods have damaged our understanding of reality and why they continue to be perpetuated.  Here’s some of the new images:

“Props to Eliphas Levi for his great idea. Why no one seems to have connected the 22 Hebrew Letters to the 22 Tarot trumps before his time is anyone’s best guess, though it seems likely that antisemitism was at the root of it…” – m1thr0s

“Don’t worry. We are not going to be making a habit of cancelling these meetings. The tail end of February has brought us an unexpected surprise since we found a very cool Abrahadabra Institute house in the downtown Olympia area that we will be moving into on or about March 1, 2013. 4-bedroom, 2-bath space in great condition and a very cool landlord with lots of light, full basement, nice yard (with a working hot tub!), decent kitchen, dining room, living room (all wood flooring) and so on. This will be a very productive art/metaphysics space for us but it came up suddenly and we need to move on it quickly. Looks like I’ll finally have a real study to do podcasts in and more, so we’re pretty stoked…

I am also doing a workshop this month at Evergreen State College on sacred symbolism in art and we have been told that the art collective we are doing this for has found funding to actually pay us for this and future workshops to come, so that’s another bit of excitement going on this month. Izi did one too on Academic Realism that went off really well so now it’s my turn…

Anyway – we will resume on schedule come April with the local AI meetups!

The April meeting will cover the elemental Lo Shu square.
