simple twinstar meditation

I’ll introduce you to a simple guided meditation on the TwinStar anyone can do. The TwinStar “likes it fast and hot” in the course of the official TwinStar meditation, which counts from 1-10 across the Tetractys of the Decad. Normally you do this slightly complex meditation very very fast, under 5 seconds normally, and you raise a tremendous amount of energy during a 10-720 minute session.
Even though this is an alternate meditation, and it’s considered passive, it’s not one where you sit and still the mind or relax it, or try to empty it or other such nonsense. Dispensing with the shackles of mind altogether is a technique known in the Japanese martial arts community as no-mind, which is different than emptying the mind like it is some kettle of fish.
The mind can never actually be turned off, what we can do is raise our consciousness above one of the lower rungs of the Body of Light, our flesh body, into higher rungs of The Body of Light. This mental asana positions us in the above and detaches us temporarily from the flesh body’s mechanical processes, allowing us to access higher mind.
Not everyone is ready for the style of *action meditation* that is more desirable, at least, not at first. It seems difficult, overwhelming even. Doubly so if the inability to perform is accompanied by a sense of urgency. The mirrors have their ways of instigating action and you may feel extreme pressure to learn a certain technique. This can be a little overwhelming.
I’ve developed a method of learning the TwinStar which can be satisfying but doesn’t require intense focus. Be aware however, that the fast and complete meditations are something you will enjoy and benefit from eventually if you learn to stick with it. Slow, awkward steps of a toddler lead to the fast, perfect and balanced run of an adult.
Simply take any image of the TwinStar and gaze at it. The best images are under normal or tinted glass, mimicking a black mirror.
The most advanced rungs of Mutational Alchemy were only ever explained to me. That was very frustrating for both of us. He loved writing in forums but the structured task of composing chapters of his immense work bored him to tears. He never had the patience to write down much of the intricacies of practice, only the model. Yet I do understand some of the techniques cannot be easily explained in text without extensive illustrations. Even though he taught thousands of people over the course of his lifetime, indirectly, he hated teaching. “I have to teach.” he told me, once, bemoaning his fate.
The Book of the Law states in the first chapter “He must teach, but he may make severe the ordeals.” We used to have curious conversations about that, as we were compelled to structure things so that potential students had to stand on their own two feet. They were never prepared. I’m also inclined to believe that these few students only came to us out of desperation – they had tried everything else. The world isn’t ready for Mutational Alchemy.
One of the first things the P’an Ku mirror told me, when it began instructing me strangely, and I was able to understand its encrypted signals in English, was that if I could not swim I would sink – no one would be allowed to assist me in the task of self-creating my levity. m1thr0s himself was hard on me, as were all of his associates who knew little of Mutational Alchemy. These were the secret ordeals of the Book of the Law. The first task for any neophyte to learn straight away is that one must be detached from the personal peculiarities of these ordeals. They speak through people, and the turbulence is not coming from them directly. If one cannot do this, they will fail. Choronzon and the Will of Heaven penetrates through all life.
Then m1thr0s and I would stay up all night drinking coffee and I would work on the deck, while he pushed forward with a new model of Mutational Alchemy, such as the Hidden Diamond Sutra or the Temporals, which are far beyond the practices that he could present to newbies. This was by necessity alone – the contents of the reports he was receiving from various sources had to be laid out and recorded.
The article What is the TwinStar? is a fundamental explanation of Mutational Alchemy praxis, however it is too complex for many who do not wield the benefit of understanding or scrying experience. As the saying goes around here – “if you meet the mirrors halfway they’ll pickup where you are lacking” and the same is true of the simplest of gazing operations: passive scrying.
The technique could not be more easy: simply stare at the TwinStar. This is called “mirror-gazing” and while it is not endemic to Mutational Alchemy practice, it can propel one forward if they are lacking the stability and mental acuity to perform the TwinStar meditation itself.
While I had some active scrying knowledge and had memorized the order of the Sephira on the Tree of Life, much of my initial encounters with the Mutational Alchemy material took place while I was passively gazing the P’an Ku mirror, a precursor to the doctrine of the Twin Trees.

The original arrangement of the 64 hexagrams on the Tree of Life by m1thr0s 729, called The P’an Ku Mirror

I heard it calling my name, I heard it chanting encouragement, and its indisputable insistance that I pay attention to it came through on the communication waves as a soft but persistant voice. The trees are wonderful for building a bridge to Abrahadabra. The TwinStar doctrine is much loftier than the trees. The tree is within the star, not the other way around. This was the mistake Crowley made with Abrahadabra and while I don’t imagine enough people scrutinize Crowley enough to be put off by it, the distinction is important to both assert and recognize if we are to have success.
The slow approach to the TwinStar is the approach of Water and Earth, passive gazing. My development of this methodology was encouraged both by m1thr0s’ insistance on not interfering with an individual’s unique approach to the system, respect for their wyrd and will, as well as my particular role in the alchemical operation we were undertaking together.
Our relationship was based on me fulfilling my place as the feminine elements and he as the masculine. We were both rooted in Water and Fire, but we were manifesting Air. That is the general direction the Earth and humanity had to take. m1thr0s loved to think of me as The Goddess. He was a Shakti worshipper, as all true Tantricists are. Kali was his beloved, and he knew I also worshipped her and felt a kinship with her.
He seemed shocked and surprised when I told him one day I didn’t agree with his apologetics for the I Ching. There are several passages in the I Ching which are viewed as denigrating women. One of his previous girlfriends had found them offensive. He advised me that I would have to ignore these passages. I was a bit surprised myself, although touched by his sensitivity to sexism. I told him that during my first early weeks with the I Ching by my side, after I had forged an alliance with The Abrahadabra Institute and began my initiation rites, spontaneously, that those passages constituted some of the most wonderful and intimate experiences with the I Ching. It’s just right for Yin to appreciate Yang, and vice versa, in my opinion. It took some time for him to get used to my views on these issues, but in my opinion this misunderstanding of Yin and Yang’s position leads to all of the ill-dignified Yin and yang positions out there amongst humans.
In our pathworking together we always had to make little adjustments, but the most important ones seemed to be those in which we scaled back our misguided respect for one another. For me, my place was to manifest K’un in the place of Jen. That is, I was the representation for the entirety of Yin, manifesting Yin in her most proper place, from within the body of a Man (Jen). He was to me the highest representation of Yang in this world, representing the culmination of the best of Jen. It was this formula which would create the world, after we destroyed it. This Tantric weaving is very hard to appreciate froma fundamentalist feminist perspective, just as it is difficult to achieve from a stodgy, conservative, Chinese perspective.
To me the one piece of advice that stuck out to me from all of the I Ching literature was that where it encourages Yin to follow Yang. <insert quote> I had spent a great amount of attention to this and cultivated our relationship this way, sometimes with great pains. But he was following all of the advice for Yang towards Yin. So it was that we had forged a delicate kind of dance, punctuated by turbulent and often passionate storms of Air, Mind, Jen through our astrological sun signs. He was Aquarius and I am a Gemini. Without the language of Mutational Alchemy I could never begin to describe our relationship. So I very well couldn’t to just about anyone until this book was written.
Despite my insistence on following Yin and Yang protocol, neither m1thr0s nor I discount the active force of Yin. This may seem contrary at first, given that Yin is the receptive element, yet it has been identified classically in Chinese Antiquity as a corrosive and healing element.
In the past the difficulty with presenting Mutational Alchemy to the public was that it was so radically different from all other meditations on earth. This is where its strength lies, as the Earth’s religions and meditational practices have fallen far behind the times with regard to other disciplines, such as science and politics for example, but it makes fighting against the herd mindset within the occult intolerable.
People are so insistent on their outdated modes of thinking they feel it necessary to burden others with their dogma, even in a field where dogma has generally not been well looked upon. It’s such a leap in methodology that if one does not document every little detail of their path that leads them to success or desirable result, reciting the path to neophytes becomes damned near impossible from memories.
There is No God but Man. Perhaps we do send echoes or instruction into the past from the future. If so, let’s start by allowing ourselves *Will*, not just love. Love by itself is nice, but it doesn’t serve to elevate us the way that *Will* can and must. Love is the Law, Love under Will.

excerpt from abrahadabra:the anatomy of the body of light by m1thr0s

I’ve been advised by the Secret Chiefs ;) to release this small portion (2 out of 16 pages) of the introduction to Abrahadabra: The Anatomy of the Body of Light ahead of time. This work will be released as a series of volumes. The work is not completed yet, though a huge portion of it has been completed and we’re running way ahead of schedule. It will take some time before it is necessary to complete it. I have not been given a publication schedule yet and I am not allowed to know any other details yet when that date will be set. – Izi

Liber Tzaddi is now canonical as the unofficial 4th Chapter of the Book of the Law. Although this may seem a bold move to some, it is also the unofficial stance of m1thr0s for decades, and now the official stance of The Abrahadabra Institute, that it is in fact the Emperor speaking to *his* people alone, not to the mix of the other uninitiated, the blind and the people that he is against as in the previous chapters (and speakers). I suggest reading Liber al Vel Legis all the way through and then approaching Liber Tzaddi as the 4th Chapter and see how it feels to you. For me it was remarkable but maybe that’s just me… – Izi

Introduction to Abrahadabra: The Anatomy of the Body of Light by m1thr0s

The manual that follows is unique and mysterious. There is nothing like it anywhere in the world, or I would not be compiling it at this time. Its subject matter is so austere and people so apparently oblivious of its principles that I had long ago resigned myself to unraveling its mysteries on my own initiative. There has always seemed to me to be very little point in attempting to solicit any support for this work, since it has been my experience that the very same people and institutions who are the first to tout the importance of new ideas are also the first to undermine them. Finding no organizations I could form any useful alliance with anyway, I resolved that any sufficiently important body of original metaphysical research would have little choice but to evolve by stealth. I have subsequently contented myself with being a free agent exploring a noble model on its own merits, with no social obligations attached.
The situation has changed. Even the remotest of mystics cannot always remain aloof from the troubles that plague his world. Economic opportunism has accrued unprecedented wealth and power through the routine plundering of anything in its path. Suddenly it finds itself caught in a cowardly dilemma – what once seemed only a casual coincidence turns out to be an embedded truth: its very continuance altogether depends upon artificially induced strife and suffering.  Corporate thugs are normally a rather stupid lot who until recently never fully appreciated the game they were playing and have only rarely enjoyed the carte blanche sanction of government. With the help of hired tutors they have finally figured it all out so that the economics of disaster are suddenly being perpetrated everywhere with extreme deliberation. Since the 1970’s alone roughly one third of all wildlife on Earth has been pushed to extinction with human populations falling hard on its heels, including whole nations and many millions of people. Synchronous to this stepped-up onslaught against non-essential life forms everywhere has come the systematic dismantling of individual rights and freedoms – the one thing they seem to fear above all others. Armageddon is upon us here and now and its architects are engineering it from the highest levels on down. In the face of this long anticipated evil we are left stunned and disbelieving, while a callous criminal elite pursues its genocidal agenda with murderous precision. I needn’t invent such facts as these. No sane person would believe them if I did.
It appears that the story of humankind’s inalienable birthright must be told sooner than later, whether people are ready to hear it or not. I am, in many respects, reticent to reveal it in advance of its perfected mastery, though it is physically impossible to exploit it for foul purposes. If I do not disclose these facts, there exists a very real possibility that they will fail to be understood in time to make a positive difference of any kind. I also appreciate that many people have been haphazardly seeking out this cosmological master key without necessarily understanding its form. This creates an additional incentive for me to come forward, since I have always felt that a subject matter of this magnitude should be dealt with by as many good minds as could be drawn into it and not be left to be sorted out in tortured isolation. Although it has been the habit of Hermetic Alchemists to keep their esoteric secrets to themselves, there comes a time when even reasonable habits must give way to other prudence. We have entered into the Information Age carrying a great deal of excess baggage. There are players in this drama who have dug their heels in hard against any prospect of conscious evolution, who would (if they could) usher in a great Dark Age instead. In the face of such insidious aggressions, an enhanced self-awareness is inevitably one’s best (and perhaps only) possible defense.
It would be an easy matter for me to play to the popular media in ways it both expects and (more often) demands. I could easily claim to have received the following cosmological blueprint in a dream or a vision or via some alien intelligence from a distant galaxy or any one of a thousand other childish scenarios aimed at bolstering my credibility with those who are unable or unwilling to scrutinize ideas according to their intrinsic merits. There would even be a certain amount of truth in this since I have drawn to powerful spiritual forces in the development of this technology that have almost certainly assisted me in unseen ways. But the bottom line is that what I have arrived at I have arrived at the hard way, through asking a lot of very difficult questions and insisting upon their answers, by taking the risks that needed to be taken and adhering to the rules that needed to be adhered to. The end result is a model of transcendent reality that hides from nothing and has no fear of being scrutinized, built upon falsifiable proofs where other models are built upon hearsay and hand-me-down traditions long ago stripped clean of anything so menial as deductive reasoning.
While the star-theory of human evolutionary potential has actually been with us for a very long time (albeit masked in diverse ways), there has never been a comprehensive accounting of the anatomical properties that could render this anything more than a metaphorical allusion. This manual plugs that fatal gap and goes on to outline a concise methodology of star-body distillation and assimilation. Its value will not diminish over time and no other teaching on earth trumps it. It lays out a comprehensive visualization technique for realizing the Body of Light at levels never before attempted in such a comprehensive manner. It defines what the human *star* is and how it can be brought to bear in human experience on a daily basis. It affords all human beings a tangible model of perfection, which can be seized upon both intellectually and physically. It provides a detailed systemic for analyzing and simulating that supreme perfection, such that all rational people will have some concrete way of confronting it devoid of internal contradictions. It combines *right thinking* with *right action* to such a high degree that it will at first seem utterly impossible to achieve, yet over time will be seen to be so profoundly accessible as to completely overwhelm all other concerns and hesitations. It is a form of meditation principle and practice expressly tailored to the here-and-now, whose immediate relevance to the human condition can be expected to last indefinitely.
The model presented in this manual is not in conflict; neither with itself nor any other viable reality construct of any kind. Its task is to define humankind on a universal scale and nothing less. It will eventually be vindicated as the Philosopher’s Stone, a direct emanation of the wisdom of antiquity come full circle into the present to pave a solid pathway to the future of humankind. Its parallels are identifiable everywhere one might happen to look, yet nowhere is its exact form anywhere to be found. It is the product – not only of a single lifetime – but many generations of intensive self-inspection, stretching all the way back to the roots of civilization, as we know it. It amounts to an expert distillation of the world’s store of esoteric wisdom. It requires no specialized belief system to explore its tenets and is inherently opposed to none.

Ed Note: Aspie types will notice the quote in the picture above which I created for this article is from Liber Tzaddi, but is “misquoted”. It is actually very close to the original text before an editor “corrected” the original. m1thr0s found this to be quite poor form as articles in Class A are never to be altered by human hands and may only be altered through direct contact with a member of A.’.A.’. so high in stature they may be considered beyond the comprehension of even adepts. I could not even locate the original version as I was unclear if it was in the Grady McMurtry reprint of The Holy Books of Thelema called “ΘΕΛΗΜΑ” but I went ahead and altered it by connecting to source – if you are in possession of the original Crowley or McMurtry printing please touch base at abrahadabrainstitute@gmail.com.

passing the torch…

hand_torch_02_small

Over the past 18 months I have been hospitalized not less than 4 times with end-stage emphysema, a progressive disease that no one walks away from once it has reached that degree of severity. It’s hard to predict how much time I am left with…might be a few days, might be 10 years though the doctors think it’s more like months and I am being urged to wrap up whatever affairs I may need to and have been processed as a hospice patient for those who know the lingo. For those who don’t it basically means there isn’t anything they can do for me but try to make me as comfortable as possible.

This is not a boo-hoo fest. I am posting this as a matter of clarification regarding the future of The Abrahadabra Institute and nothing else. It’s been a long and a difficult road from the first faint envisioning of a proper physics of the Body of Light to the creation of a dialogue that is strong enough to go the distance reaching out to other great minds from a position of relative abandon to engage and challenge others to recognize and take up the call to action. I have been beset with all manner of isolation and obstacle in this battle which has been slow going but very steady and strong notwithstanding. I didn’t know it when I got started on this path that I would probably need about 300 years and a certain amount of funding to bring all of this to fruition – more time than I have to spend and no financing of any kind.

Now that I have come too far to back out (and wouldn’t want to even if I could!) I will have to settle for having begun and carried a task on its own merits without ever seeing the final outcome and that’s ok – in any case it beats being someone else’s brainwashed zombie. The Abrahadabra Institute will survive because the world needs it though people are generally unaware how great a need exists. This is changing ever so gradually as people begin to see what a profound potential exists here. What will happen in my absence is that the Institute will pass to Izi Sesa Ningishzidda who will watch over it and keep it safe from harm. Another will come along at some point with the wherewithall to advance it according to her specifications.

Though I do not typically assume the mantle of teacher I have made a few exceptions for individuals who showed enough promise to warrant the drain on my time and general resources. To date, Izi is the only one who has made it through enough gates to define her as a full-time student of Abrahadabra. Even Mutational Alchemy which is a very advanced metaphysics is not lost on her the way it is with so many others. Izi has the right nature and nurture (both) to ask the right questions and stick with it until the right answers are found. Her natural instincts combined with an impeccable study habits endow her with an innate capacity for getting to the truth no matter how concealed so that I have every confidence that there is nothing so obtuse as to remain hidden from her for very long. There is only one Magister Ouroboros incarnated at any time so that while I live that office remains with me but will pass to her in due course as well once I have gone.

In the interim readers should know that there would be no Abrahadabra Institute at all if not for Izi. Even if my health were not compromised it’s too much work for one person managing the development of Mutational Alchemy and the Abrahadabra Institute at the same time so that a choice has to be made and I don’t personally need the Institute as much as I need Mutational Alchemy to advance as far as I can push it. People are generally unaccustomed to thinking of the Body of Light as a proper  physics and are hesitant to recognize that we have the means to make it one lacking the Will (chiefly) inasmuch as the precedents are all over the map stretching back thousands of years. All that is really lacking is an individual with the vision and compilation skills to piece the map together.

In 2013 Izi and I registered The Abrahadabra Institute as a Limited Liability Company with the idea of using it as the organizational hub for the promotion of all things Abrahadabra. Our first major project was the Mutational Alchemy Tarot Deck which offers people a means of learning the basics of Mutational Alchemy in a form that many will already be acquainted with. The next project is an extensive course curriculum that will take students through the steps necessary to become proficient applicants of the loftiest spiritual alchemy on Earth. Though one really should not be intimidated by it it is fair to say we have raised the bar higher than it has ever been raised in this world and do not cater to the weak or the excuse-makers. Many have tried to steal from us but cannot get very far with this – first because our material is so revolutionary and second because explaining what they have stolen is such an overwhelming task.

So that’s the update. Izi is the glue that has been holding it all together and when I pass there should be no question that the torch passes to her. It’s impossible to predict with confidence when that will be, though we both kind of feel like the TwinStar isn’t done with me yet and there is a lot that still hangs in the balance so this announcement is more a prudent clarification than a prediction of anything per se.

the abrahadabra institute symposium

Date: First Sunday of the month.
Time: 7-10 P.M. PST

We do this every year during the Fall and Winter monthly and it is always a lot of fun. Sometimes they are held at King Solomon’s Reef or Cryptatropa but we may also hold them at private venues. Anyone who is interested in The Body of Light, Thelema, Abrahadabra, Hermetic Alchemy, Satanism, Qabbalah or Eastern doctrines such as the I Chng is welcome here. We are focused on the Body of Light and its mastery. The Abrahadabra Institute is the only propagator of Mutational Alchemy teachings in the world, a hybrid branch of Hermetic Alchemy, which focuses on not only traditional Western Hermeticism, but also Eastern metaphysics, such as, but not limited to, Tantra, Taoism, Vajrayana Buddhism (Tantric Buddhism) and Sanatana Dharma. The hosts, m1thr0s and Izi Ningishzidda created The Mutational Alchemy Tarot.

Prasadam (food) and wine dedicated to Abrahadabra is offered for participants.

If you wish to attend please RSVP here on our contact page and we will get back to you with the venue location and any pertinent details or updates.

We are also looking for ritual volunteers, if you want experience crafting rituals this is a great opportunity to learn from experienced ritualists.

mutational alchemy tarot • lo shu spreads

mat-loshuspreads01

The Lo Shu Diagram is the oldest known example of a “magical square” in the world, despite parallels to it in other places such as the Key of Saturn from ancient India and others. Briefly defined, a magical square is any squared arrangement of numbers that add to the same sum vertically, horizontally and diagonally. The Lo Shu Diagram dates back as far as 5600 years by some estimates and we apparently don’t really know who actually discovered it. It comes down to us in the form of a myth, following several prominent versions, depicting the mysterious appearance of a tortoise from the river Lo which carried upon its back a curious set of markings, which, upon inspection, revealed a numerical super-symmetry, thus deemed magical for its unexpected qualities. In some versions of this story the credit is given to Fu Hsi (also Fu Xi) for its discovery though we have no actual reason to assign it to him in fact. What we do know is that Fu Hsi was so impressed with this magical arrangement of numbers that China itself was subsequently structured around its underscoring principle, with the heart of the empire seated at center surrounded on eight sides by powerful Lords and Houses, each representative of one of the eight primary trigrams flanking the outermost edges of the Lo Shu Diagram itself.

Aside from making it possible for us to integrate the Lo Shu invocation into our card reading, even inexperienced readers very soon develop intuitive understandings of what the eight principal trigrams mean so that it can be useful to us to have access to this information while attempting to sort out an answer to our various inquiries.  The trigrams are very distinct with their own personalities, natures and so on. A card that lands in Chen (heaven) will have a very different meaning than if it had landed on K’an (the abysmal, water) for instance. Skillful readers make use of these kinds of distinctions. Another advantage of working with the Lo Shu is the readers ability to draw cards according to their proper positioning within the magickal square itself. This gives us a kind of insurance that our reading is a technical invocation complete with sigil or anything else that the Lo Shu has to offer us.

Trigrammal attributions taken from the Wilhem Baynes translation of the (King Wen) I Ching. This is a very partial, albeit impartial list of attributions. A more comprehensive list can best be obtained by studying the I Ching cover to cover to get a better working sense of how the trigrams interact with each other under a wide range of conditions.

(1) The Creative (Heaven): Kh’ien, father, cosmological yang, action principle, duration, time orientation, formlessness, energy rooted, conquest, overcoming obstacles, awareness

(2) The Penetrating (Wind): Sun, 1st daughter, atmospheric yin, air, wind, wood, sensitivity, responsiveness, intuition, assimilation, pervasiveness, growth, maturing, ripening, gentleness

(3) The Abysmal (Water): K’an, 2nd son, elemental yang, dark, formlessness, uncertainty, emotion, eros, lunar forces, cold, fluidity, painful exertion, deep, dangerous, hearing

(4) Keeping Still (Mountain): Kén, 3rd son, geological yang, steady, heaviness, stability, quietness, equanimity, concentration, solidity, resistance, inertia, perfection, completion

(5) Yin-Yang (Taichitu): similar in most respects to intelligence itself, the taichitu has no distinguishing characteristics but directs and coordinates all things both mind and matter.

(6) The Joyous (Lake): Tui, 3rd daughter, geological yin, reflecting, buoyant, lightness, gaiety, observation, intuitive vision, volatility, changeability, happiness, serenity, joy

(7) The Clinging (Fire): Li, 2nd daughter, elemental yin, clarity, clearness, discrimination, solar forces, elementary, visuality, cognition, clinging, dependence, visibility, eyes

(8) The Arousing (Thunder): Chen, 1st son, atmospheric yang, exciting, impetus, stimulation, impulse, vitality, mobility, fertilization, volition, exciting first movements, mobility

(9) The Receptive (Earth): K’un, Mother, cosmological yin, recessive principle, spatial orientation, surrender, material formation, devoted, serving, digestion

Other than the eight principal trigrams, there also exist the nine principal bigrams that form the core of the 729 ternary hexagrams. It isn’t necessary to have memorized the 729 ternaries in order to get a good Mutational Alchemy Tarot reading but having a copy of the Willhelm/Baynes I Ching on hand is definitely recommended. So is The Tai Hsuan Ching by Derek Walters (if you can find it!). Any other support materials that aid us in defining our basic layouts are equally recommended since divination is a projection skill at bottom such that the better grasp we have of our guidelines, the more accurate our readings will tend to be. Even a simple thing like deciding whether to emphasize trigrams or elements will impact the readings that we get. Neither choice is ever wrong but will mediate the type of information we get notwithstanding. So the key is to try to be as clear as possible right from the start how we will proceed and what system of symbols and key components we will employ at the level of interpretation. Whether we run with the Lo Shu, the Tetractys, The Sword and Shield or some other system not here discussed (astrological houses for instance) the choices we make right at the beginning will shape the answers we get.

(1) Fire: The Lo Shu defines this element as a Yang of Heaven married to a Yang of Earth. Qabbalistic tradition assigns it to *Atziluth*, the first of the Four Elemental Realms emanating from Ain Soph (boundless nothingness) in the Tree of Life. It is an elder masculine force said to contain all of the four elements within itself. Its power is called *emanation* and typically corresponds to the faculty of *Will*.

(2) Sun: The Lo Shu defines this element as a Yang of Heaven married to a Jen of Earth. It most closely parallels Fire but also contains abundant Air. In Vedic tradition it represents the Shiva principle in the relation of Macrocosm and correlates to the Vijnanamaya Kosha within the Five Koshas. Its power is called *discrimination* associated to the faculty of Intellect.

(3) Air: The Lo Shu defines this element as Yang of Heaven married to a Yin of Earth. It is a youthful masculine force with a strong ascending nature. Qabbalistic tradition assigns it to *Yetzirah*, the third of the Four Elemental Realms emanating from Ain Soph in the Tree of Life. Its power is called *formation* and it typically corresponds to the faculty of *conceptual abstraction*.

(4) Lingam: The Lo Shu defines this element as a Yang of Earth married to a Jen of Heaven. It most closely parallels Air but also contains abundant Fire. In Vedic tradition it represents the Shiva principle in the relation of Microcosm and correlates to the Pranamaya Kosha within the Five Koshas. Its power is closely linked with alchemical *levity* (ascending life-force energy) and is associated with the property of *movement*.

(5) Akasha (Spirit): The Lo Shu defines this element as a Jen of Heaven married to a Jen of Earth. It is unique and sovereign within the 9-elemental system. All other elements emanate from it and collect back into it. It has no outstanding powers or faculties yet all powers and faculties are rooted in it. It binds, directs, coordinates and liberates both Mind and Matter. It is roughly equivalent to the qabbalistic *Mezla* (the influence of Kether) in the Tree of Life and corresponds to the Anandamaya Kosha within the Five Koshas, whose physical composition is defined as purest *Bliss*, or *Ecstasy*.

(6) Yoni: The Lo Shu defines this element as a Yin of Earth married to a Jen of Heaven. It most closely parallels the element of Earth but also contains abundant Water. In Vedic tradition it represents the Shakti principle in the relation of Microcosm and correlates to the Annamaya Kosha within the Five Koshas. Its power is *physical sensation* associated to the 5 senses, linked to *primal mind* including both *instinct* and *intuition*.

(7) Earth: The Lo Shu defines this element as a Yin of Heaven married to a Yang of Earth. It is a youthful feminine force with a strong descending nature. Qabbalistic tradition assigns it to *Assiah*, the fourth of the Four Elemental Realms emanating from Ain Soph in the Tree of Life. It is called the *world of making* where forms become physically *real*. Its properties are *stability* and *predictability*, allowing for reality to be a shared experience across all borders and boundaries.

(8) Moon: The Lo Shu defines this element as a Yin of Heaven married to a Jen of Earth. It most closely parallels the element of Water but also contains abundant Earth. In Vedic tradition it represents the Shakti principle in the relation of Macrocosm and correlates to the Manomaya Kosha within the Five Koshas. Its power is called *separation* linked to the alchemical process of *distillation*. It links to Mind as a dispersive instrument making it possible for us to scrutinize differences.

(9) Water: The Lo Shu defines this element as a Yin of Earth married to a Yin of Heaven. It is an elder feminine force pervasive in all forms of life in this world. Qabbalistic tradition assigns it to *Briah*, the second of the Four Elemental Realms emanating from Ain Soph in the Tree of Life.
